Nutritious Food at a Delicious Price
I’m a poor college student. I’m sure at one point during your life you’ve been able to sympathize with my meager situation. My idea of healthy food on a tight budget used to mean making a $3 box of granola bars stretch as an entire week’s lunch. Not anymore. I’ve learned over time that it is possible to find nutritious food at delicious prices.
Here are some tips:
Shop at local farmers markets and roadside stands. There are tons of benefits to buying local. First, the fruits and veggies sold there are a whole lot healthier than their greasy, quarter-pound heart attack alternatives. Second, you’re buying fresher food that will not only taste better and be packed with more nutrients (rather than pesticides) than processed foods or store bought vegetables, it’ll last longer in your fridge too. Plus you’re supporting your local economy or the one where you’re visiting.
