Please Spare the Heckling
By now, opposing fans know what to expect when they venture into Mountaineer Field. I’ll spare you the details, but the foul language being used in your direction will probably be the least of your worries.
So it comes as no surprise that Marshall fans are less than excited about making their third trip to Morgantown in recent years. Two years ago, Herd fans came back to Huntington with horror stories of thrown drinks, near fights and overall terrible hospitality from their neighbors to the north.
It would not surprise me at all to see fewer green-clad Herd fans in Morgantown on Sept. 27 than in years past. I cannot think of one person in Huntington that I have spoken to who is going to the game this season. Marshall fans would rather not deal with the harassment that has become the calling card of a trip to Mountaineer Field.
