Woman drowns in West Virginia's New River

CUNARD, W.Va. (AP) — Authorities say a 48-year-old woman drowned in West Virginia after the boat she was in capsized on the New River.

WOAY-TV reports two other people who were in the boat Thursday swam to shore.

The National Park Service has identified the woman as Christina Dawn Schneider of Oak Hill. She was found downstream.

The Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department and Jan-Care Ambulance responded to the site in southeastern West Virginia.
